Jon Orrell steps down as Managing Director
HOP announces that as of January 2019, HOP Finance Director John Spearman is to be appointed Managing Director. John Spearman assumes this role from Jon Orrell who has served as Managing Director/Senior Partner since the businesses inception in 1985.
John has been working closely alongside Mr Orrell for the last 18 months to allow for a smooth transition of the business and continuity of leadership and will now take the position of MD as Mr Orrell steps down.
Jon Orrell will remain a Director and continue to work on unique projects, Expert Witness advice work, mentoring staff, training and continuing HOP’s extensive work in the community. Jon will also be working on some interesting overseas projects.
John Spearman brings with him over 20 years of leadership experience and technical engineering knowledge to his new role as Managing Director. As Finance Director for HOP previously, John also brings a wealth of commercial experience enabling the successful financial management of the firm, alongside his role in successfully developing strong technical teams through a training and mentoring culture, enabling HOP staff to realise buildability and contractor-friendly designs in good time.
